The history of Torhout pottery goes back to the 15th century, when the Dukes of Kleef founded a pottery workshop near Wijnendale Castle. The museum contains an overview of the valuable local production. It explains how Torhout pottery has influenced other Flemish pottery centres. Several times a year, the museum offers temporary exhibitions of works by contemporary artists. The museum is surrounded by the beautiful park of Daven Ravenhof.
