Ciney is known for its puces and antiques fairs (early October) and for its impressive livestock market (sensitive souls abstain). Opened every Friday as at 6 a. m., it is the most important of its kind in Europe, welcoming more than four thousand livestock each week. The college of Ciney, although much older, dates back to the middle of the th century. The foundation of the tower, which was subsequently surmounted by a steeple, would, however, have been erected around the th century, which suggests that several successive buildings were built at the site of the present college, originally dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and today dedicated to Saint Nicholas.Ciney brings together eight villages that compete with charm: Achêne, Braibant, Food, Conneux, Haversin, Leignon, Pessoux and Sovet. 23 marked walks allow the most valiant to visit them…
