This beautiful city imposes its majesty on the northern tip of the Ardennes. Established on both banks of the river, it unfolds its old streets with historical scents. Narrow, sometimes unfathomable, they take you on a journey to the heart of the Middle Ages, in the 16th century to be exact, when Givet was fortified by Charles V. Numerous works were built, leaving the town with an important historical heritage. After the entrance to the city guarded by the Porte de France, the unmissable building is the Fort Charlemont overlooking the old city. The blue stone of Givet, extracted from nearby quarries, colours the facades of the houses.
