The main town in the Antwerp Kempen, Turnhout is famous for its beguinage, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This small town has retained its period charm, which you can discover by strolling through its houses and baroque church. All around, the Campine occupies three quarters of the province. It then slopes eastwards, where it seamlessly joins the Limburg Kempen. It's a little-known region with 350 signposted walks and 2,000 km of cycle paths through heather, pine forests, marshes and meadows. Brochures of these routes are available from tourist offices.
