The Island of the Moon is located 7 km from the Island of the Sun (about 30 minutes by fast boat). The distances show that the first Spaniards, amazed to contemplate the Sacred Lake, were right when they called it "the inner sea of the Andes". To get there, the boat of course! You can make an organized tour from Copacabana, the boats usually stop first on the Isla del Sol, before leaving again towards the Isla de la Luna. Alternatively, you can hike from Copacabana to the village of Sampaya. From there, you will have organized the boat trip to the Isla de la Luna beforehand
