Travel Guide Yunguyo

At 136 km from Puno and only 10 km from Copacabana on the Bolivian side, Yunguyo is located on the small arm of land that separates the big lake from the Wiñaymarca lake. The crossing of this border will allow you to make a stop in Copacabana, from where boats leave for the islands of the Sun and the Moon. Otherwise, in 30 minutes you can reach the port of Punta Hermosa, from where motor boats leave for the chain of islands of Anapia (2h30 journey). This archipelago preserves its traditions, including the " pago a la tierra ", and has beautiful sandy beaches. The largest island, Yuspique, is used for the breeding of vicuñas and is classified as a reserve.
