74 km northeast of Puno, at the end of the Capachica peninsula, this community of some 1,300 inhabitants still preserves its culture and traditions. You can get there by boat or by road, via Juliaca. It is possible to practice what Peruvians call "turismo vivencial": the local equivalent of our bed and breakfast. The rooms are basic, but independent. Be careful, the bathrooms (without hot water) and toilets are most often outside and it is very cold especially at night. On the other hand, there are exciting encounters and exchanges if you try to break the ice. At the foot of Lake Titicaca.
