The city of Denton, at the northern end of Dallas and Fort Worth, has a population of about 140,000. Here was the opening of Texas Women University in 1901. In 2020, Gerard Hudspeth was the area's first African-American mayor. Denton is particularly known for its nightlife and concerts.
