On the road to Utah, on the border of Arizona, Mesquite is a possible stop in the middle of the desert. Without any charm or real advantage compared to Las Vegas or St. George - about 60 kilometers to the northeast - the two nearest big cities, Mesquite nevertheless offers several lodging and restaurant possibilities at relatively interesting rates. Most importantly, there is a particularly nice golf course: Wolf Creek Golf Club. From here, be prepared for a beautiful drive through the rock formations that are characteristic of the Virgin River Gorge area.
