Travel Guide Parc National Iriqui

Established in 1994, Iriqui National Park (123 000 hectares) is located near Ouarzazate, in the provinces of Zagora and Tata. Its desert landscapes are representative of southern Morocco: steppe, savane savanna, tamarisks… During winter, many migratory birds mark a stop over the lake, particularly pink flamingos, coots and wild geese.The wildlife of the park is varied. In addition to the gazelle dorcas, the manchettes sheep, the hyena, the houbara houbara, there are many reptiles, such as the lizard or the gecko. Oryx, addax and ostrich with red neck are gradually reintroduced.The park is a transhumance area for many nomads living in the region.
