It is 25 km south of Gyanja. Situated in the Little Caucasus, more than 1 500 m above sea level, this lake is inserted into the national park bearing its name, created in 1965. In summer, a hotel complex welcomes tourists on the shores of the lake (Hajikend Resort Zone). However, for foreign tourists, it may be problematic to access the lake, which is very close to the border with the area occupied by Armenia. It is therefore advisable to contact the Gyanja Tourist office before taking the lake road at the risk of being returned to a military checkpoint.
