There are two main reasons for coming to Lansdowne. The first, and most impressive, is its observation tower overlooking the Thousand Islands Archipelago. A 360° view allows you to appreciate the beauty of this natural jewel. Next is Charleston Lake Provincial Park. In the past, Aboriginal people sheltered under the rock walls on the shores of this cold-water lake north of the St. Lawrence River. Then, in the Victorian era, wealthy cottagers stayed here. The rugged northern landscape blends with the southern landscape and still attracts hikers and canoeists to the park's scenic shores and winding trails.
