On the way from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, don't hesitate to take a break in Grossweil on the Lakes Route and enjoy the peace and quiet and the panoramic views. Otherwise, there's nothing much to see in this tiny town, except perhaps the Glenleiten open-air museum. Its mission is to collect original Upper Bavarian buildings, reconstruct them and equip them on the museum site. Over an area of 25 hectares, it is possible to visit some sixty buildings from the rural and farming area between the Lech and Salzach rivers, between the edge of the Alps and the Danube.
