Travel Guide Tamasopo

The village of Tamasopo, which in the Teenek language means "the place where water drips", is located about 60 km west of Ciudad Valles and about the same distance from Río Verde. For those who wish to stop there for a night, you will find several small hotels. This village is aptly named, as it is surrounded by numerous waterfalls, easily accessible by public or private taxi. The most enchanting and wild are without a doubt those of Puente de Dios, with a beautiful cave illuminated by the sun's rays and submerged in the vegetation; accessible after a good descent on foot in the forest. The three waterfalls of Tamasopo, which form small natural pools that are very pleasant to swim in, are equally beautiful, but they are located in a nice complex that also offers restaurant services.
