11 km southeast of Crotone. The visit of Capo Colonna is closely linked to that of Crotone. It is a monumental archaeological area built inside a wall called Temenos. Building A is the temple of Hera, of which there is only one column (on the original 48), which has over time become the symbol of the Greek presence in Calabria (which is depicted on a good number of tourist flyers). Covered with marble tiles, the sanctuary was once adorned with paintings of the illustrious Zeuxis. Building B, discovered in 1987, encompasses the treasure of the goddess and the sacred road over 8 m; K building, or the hotel, for guests of passage (Katagogion) north of the sacred road; the H Building for banquets (Hestiatorion). Finally, on the north-east side of the promontory, in the surroundings of the Nao tower, you can see some Roman baths and mosaic tiles. Much of the upper enclosure under the Roman Republic still remains.
