This town, one of the most populated in the area, is a good starting point for a tour of the Calabrian Pollino National Park. Its recent expansion has given rise to a layout of straight and orthogonally arranged streets, while the older center, with its partially abandoned monuments, its small hidden squares and its basilica isolated on a hill, occupies a relatively high position. The whole is not without interest and animation. Castrovillari is a strategic place, big enough not to feel isolated, complete enough to find interesting things to do and eat before visiting the park.
