The city's streamlined buildings forming right angles to each other, the gigantic statues and the monumental palaces constitute one of the purest examples of rationalist architecture. A product of the Fascist regime, Sabaudia was planned and built in only 253 days and, after the reclamation of the marshes in the area, was home to peasant veterans of the First World War. In the 1960s, the town began to be frequented by wealthy Romans who built villas. Sabaudia and the Circeo park are now among the favorite seaside resorts of the Romans. In summer, it is very busy!
