A neighbor of Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach lies just under 35 kilometers south of Downtown Los Angeles. Less welcoming than the two small towns above it, it nevertheless offers beautiful views of the Palos Verdes peninsula, as well as a quiet, pleasant stroll along the ocean. In practical terms, there's little to admire here, apart from the clean houses and hotels lining the coast and the yachts in the King Harbor marina. It's a popular spot for cyclists, as Redondo Beach is on the Strand route, which ends a little further south at Torrance State Beach.
