Arcadia's history dates back to the late 1800s. In the beginning, the economy was mainly agricultural. In 1924, the town suffered a major fire that destroyed many of the buildings. The city gradually recovered, but in November 1974, torrential rains washed away many roads and infrastructure. A large part of the railroad tracks were damaged and the trains stopped running permanently to Arcadia In Arcadia, the landmark is an amazing and well-knownRound Barn, built in 1898 and restored in the 2000s. It is one of the most emblematic buildings of Route 66.
