Ambach belongs to the municipality of Münsing, a charming little town of around 4,000 inhabitants. Situated directly on the eastern shores of the lake, and therefore on the best side to enjoy the sunset, Ambach is a quiet place, ideal for a stay in the region. It's worth noting that the famous German author Patrick Süskind - who penned the bestseller The Perfume - was born here in Ambach and grew up in nearby Holzhausen. His international career has not completely detached him from his home town. Today, he lives between Munich, Montolieu in France and Seeheim on Lake Starnberg.
