Port-Fouad is the only child of the union of Port-Saïd and the Suez Canal. This small town, whose construction began in 1920, was designed in line by engineers of the Canal Company, to house the workers working for it. The town was inaugurated on December 21, 1926. A free ferry for pedestrians and cars connects Port-Saïd to Port Fouad, about every 10 minutes. On the orientation side, the ferry stops a few meters from the 6-October Square from where three main arteries run: El-Goumhorreya Street facing the pier, Avenue 2 going east, Avenue 6 going south
