Describing itself as the "only true typical Italian trattoria" in the city center, Trattoria Il Riccio has been serving Tuscan and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine since 1992. Its pasta assortments feature seasonal vegetables. The risotto and fish specialties, the antipasti buffet and the chef's constantly renewed suggestions will satisfy every palate. The clientele is made up of regulars from over 20 years as well as tourists. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The only downside is the rather high prices.

This small Indian restaurant is only 200 meters from the central station. The interior is simple and there are only about ten tables, but the exotic decoration and the background music make the place very pleasant. The extensive menu offers specialties (some tandoori) and vegetarian dishes with, for the novices or those who fear for the integrity of their palate, a specific indication for the spiciest dishes. The food is tasty, the service is attentive and the prices are reasonable. A good address.

After several months of work caused by the floods of July 2021, Neumünster Abbey has welcomed a brand new restaurant: the Abtei brasserie, opened in September 2022. The contemporary setting is tastefully decorated (we love the velvet banquettes and seats, and the open bar). The menu features tapas, Luxembourg cuisine favourites (bouchée à la Reine, cordon bleu...) and seasonal dishes. A lunch menu (which changes every week and is very competitively priced) completes the offer.

From the moment it opened in March 2020, in the midst of a health crisis, Ryodo has succeeded in winning over Luxembourgers and establishing itself as one of the capital's top addresses! In a bright, minimalist setting, you can enjoy Japanese cuisine (don't miss the wagyu) combined with European elements (such as truffles). The flavors are as fine as they are explosive, and the result is far from what we're used to. In a sober, elegant setting with a pleasant terrace, the Peppermint restaurant offers Vietnamese and Malaysian specialties, with a wide choice of vegetarian dishes. In the heart of the Limpertsberg, Kicheneck offers a no-frills journey through Lebanon. Don't stop at the simple appearance of the place and push the door: you won't be disappointed. Hummus, kofta, chakchouka, shawarma... The menu is composed of specialties, made with passion and mastered to perfection. Its slogan "Good & Honest Food" sums up the restaurant perfectly! The establishment does not offer alcohol, but is adept at the BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) concept: you can bring your own bottle of wine.

On the Place de Paris, a succession of restaurants and terraces... Among them, Casa España, a tapas and wine bar. In a sober but contemporary setting (the interior has been renovated), you can enjoy Spanish specialties accompanied by a jug of sangria. Tapas, montaditos, planks and croquetas: the menu is made up of great classics (such as patatas bravas), but also some nice surprises (octopus a la Gallega). And if you don't like sharing your plate, a wide choice of salads and meats completes the offer.

Onesto, it's an atmosphere, with these small intimate rooms and this listed fresco dating from 1806 and painted by the monk Abraham of the Abbey of Orval (Belgium). In the kitchen, the Italian sun warms the hearts and one is allowed to hesitate between homemade pasta, excellent traditional pizzas made over a wood fire and some famous products such as mozarella di buffala, tomatoes from Sicily and other beautiful references imported directly from Italy. The restaurant has a veranda and a terrace, on which you can hurry on sunny days.

The Go Ten is just like Luxembourg: a rather disconcerting place imbued with "zenitude", with its plant wall as wall decoration... and at the same time very dynamic, with a background of electro music. For lunch, the menu is unique and is only served from 12pm to 2pm. In the evening, enjoy a drink with friends and dine on nikkei cuisine, a blend of Japanese and Peruvian flavours. In summer, the terrace overlooking the pedestrian street is very pleasant. The address was also voted "Bar of the Year" in 2023 by Gault&Millau.

Considered one of the country's most renowned restaurants, the Palais de Chine welcomes you in a most pleasant setting, with its charming terrace at the rear. From here, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Lower Town. Its success is undoubtedly due to its dishes cooked in the finest North Chinese tradition. The décor, refined without being pompous, is a blend of tradition and modernity. The chef offers two menus and an à la carte menu featuring over fifty specialties.

The first Café de los Catalanes was opened in Buenos Aires in 1799 and immediately became a privileged place to meet people and discuss how to remake the world. The Cafetin de Buenos Aires is inspired by the typical cafés of the great Argentine capital and offers a typical Argentine cuisine with a fine selection of meat. People come here to celebrate food and good wine (or their delicious cocktails!) with friends and in good spirits. When the sun is shining, we settle down on the terrace.

In the friendly Clausen district, this saloon-style restaurant has been serving American cuisine for 30 years (no less!). The menu features burgers, chicken and giant spare ribs, not forgetting the famous brownies to round off the meal, which can be enjoyed at the bar or perched on high stools. The house specialty is Bob's Combo, a plate with ribs, chicken wings and steak. For Sunday brunch (served until 3 p.m.), try the unmissable bacon and eggs and muffins.

Basta Cosi is a warm and friendly place, housed in an attractive ^18th-century building renovated as a Tuscan villa. We love the patio with its panoramic roof, the terrace and the cosy atmosphere of the dining room. But also its many different kinds of pasta, risottos and pizzas served in generous portions and at quite reasonable prices. The wine list is also quite sophisticated. Renowned in the city center, the restaurant has a second address and a takeaway counter at 18 avenue Pasteur (Limpertsberg district).

One of the few, if not the only, café in this residential area... The Bel Air café offers good home made burgers, hearty salads as well as a fine selection of wines, beers, rums and whiskies. The particularity of the establishment: a warm atmosphere and a smiling welcome. As for the decoration, grey is the order of the day, and the bistro chairs and the small slates framed on the walls make the authenticity of the place. The owner Pierre and his team will do everything to make you feel "at home". Reservation is highly recommended.

As its name suggests, the Downtown Café is located in the heart of the capital, on one of the busiest shopping streets. In a modern, relaxed atmosphere, it serves coffee and donuts for breakfast, salads and bagels for lunch, and Lebanese wines and cocktails at any time of day. The setting is sober and elegant, and the terrace is pleasant, even if the street sometimes suffers from incessant traffic on Saturdays. A place to go at any time of day, alone, with family or friends.

This restaurant with Portuguese specialities has made a name for itself with its delicious giant scampi flambéed with Armagnac and rubbed with garlic. The rest of the menu is also excellent, with many meats. Among the house's flagship dishes are Viennese veal escalope, homemade pelmeni, scampi and Bacalhau Bacano for fish lovers. The portions are generous, the service smiling and professional, and the atmosphere warm. Without a doubt, a must in the Luxembourg capital!

A discreet, almost secret address... In the Limpertsberg district, Bo Zai Fan offers typical Hong Kong street food. Here, dim sums and other steamed bites are homemade and beautifully presented in bamboo baskets. The house specialty, of course, is Bo Zai Fan, rice cooked with meat in a clay pot. Four versions are available: chicken, spare ribs, beef and unagi. A cocktail is served with the dish. The owner has a second establishment, Wasabi, in Moutfort.

A newcomer to the landscape of Indian restaurants, but not only Indian. Indeed, the cook is Bangladeshi, so it is the opportunity to taste some specialities from there in addition to those of the different regions of India. The framework is well-treated and user-friendly, which perhaps explains higher prices than the other restaurants in Luxembourg. The card is also less extensive without being deprived. For non-connoisseurs, descriptions allow you to decrypt the original names of the dishes. Very good service.

We love the authenticity of the reception and the large varied map. Its quality is recognized by connoisseurs of the genus as one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. It is a pity that it is in a neighborhood not very well attended at night.

Beautifully decorated large restaurant with typical Chinese furniture. In the centre of the room a large fish tray with its centre a fountain. Dishes with different colours and scents are dildo served. One of its advantages is its tranquility even at noon. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

In a sober decor with a few posters on Tibet, this small, simple restaurant offers a good choice of Indian and Nepalese dishes. The plates are very copious, the kitchen is good without being so sophisticated. The hotel's-star buffet is a good place to relax and enjoy the best taste. Weakness: La déco déco. Talent: the good mix of spices. Possibility of taking dishes. Good value for money.

If there is a restaurant in Luxembourg for which notoriety has been based on the efficiency and deserved mouth-to-mouth and not on advertising onslaught, it is the Thai Café de Bonnevoie as many expatriates call it. We eat it simply, it's delicious and cheap. For the story, Half Moore and Lambert Wilson had dinner during the filming in Luxembourg of the movie Sidewinder. The decor is sober, in the bistro style, the service fast and smiling, and the kitchen is spicy with will if desired, or much less if you prefer.

In the heart of Bonnevoie, at the corner of the rue des Romans and rue des Trévires, this restaurant of Iberian specialities will seduce with its tapas, zarzuela, paella and parilladas or poissons fish. The terrace overlooking the quiet street is quite pleasant in summer, although your conversations will probably be interspersed with the noise of the few planes passing over the area, which, let us say, is not the fault of the bosses. Friendly service.

It's in a well-designed restaurant and in a Zen decor that you can choose from a sushi bar or a high level of sushi, or just sit in the once. A wide variety of dishes, dildo and with a smile. The authenticity of the atmosphere is less than New or Yamayu Santatsu.

When you are placed in the ground floor room and we are waiting for our order on a table tightly framed by the one of your neighbours (like in Japan!) we see a real show because we see the cook prepare the sushi before us. On the other hand, when you're relegated to the floor, you're a little isolated and the grey walls really need a refreshing drink. Great choice of sushi and sashimi, high quality and sukiyaki sukiyaki and sukiyaki. One of the references of sushi in Luxembourg… hence a highly recommended reservation!

An extraordinary set of Miles and A Nights, Aladin and Shéhérazade are certainly not far away. The chef with an inventive cuisine, with the discovery of aromas and flavours from all over the world, with products from a market he does himself. Its main specialties are couscous, tajines and taboulés. To make an oriental trip at a reasonable price, come and visit Babylon Whispers. Weakness: sometimes difficult to find a table. Talent: a cheap journey.

Upstairs Restaurant offers real world cuisine. French, Japanese, Mexican, Thai and vegetarian dishes are on the map. The ideal place to invite friends to the restaurant, because the multitude of dishes we're sure to be wrong and to satisfy everyone. The restaurant is located on the floor of the "interview" bar. A true journey for your senses and tastes in the countries of a mixed and creative world cuisine. The variety of dishes offered in colour is the true strength and originality of the hotel.

The island Gourmand of Espace Saveurs is among its members the Sapori, who means "flavours" in Italian. It offers an Italian cuisine complemented by exotic classics. The Bel Canto restaurant is a slightly off-center address in the residential Belair district, opposite the huge St. Pius X church. The restaurant offers a wide range of Italian dishes, many of them vegetarian, with the emphasis on the quality and freshness of the fish and the fresh homemade pasta. As for pizzas, special mention goes to the Giorgio (arugula, Parma ham, Parmesan shavings). Its sunny terrace is pleasant in summer. A local restaurant above all, but one you won't regret stopping at.

The Antica Trattoria is located at the crossroads of Merl and Belair, 10 minutes walk from the Place d'Armes. It is a small corner of northern Italy in Luxembourg City, with nice fresh pasta stalls and a massive pizza oven near the entrance counter. After 7 years working alongside Michelin-starred chef Ilario Mosconi, Leonardo De Paoli has opened his own restaurant and invites you to discover the cuisine of his native country. Tagliolini, crispy pork belly, buffalo ricotta... You've just booked a one-way ticket to Italy! The cuisine, based on quality products, is as tasty as it is generous. In fact, it has won Gault & Millau's "Mediterranean Restaurant of the Year 2022" and the Paperjam Foodzilla Awards 2022 for best "so fresh and so clean" establishment.

Located in Kirchberg (formerly in the Limpertsberg district), Culturando is well worth a visit! It offers Italian cuisine, more specifically from the Campania region. There are no pizzas here, just suggestions that vary daily according to seasonal produce. The bottles of wine on display are a small reflection of what the menu has to offer. Don't hesitate to ask for advice on the perfect food/wine pairing. A friendly, family-run address, where you'll feel right at home in Italy.
