Travel Guide Ram (Рам)

95 km from Belgrade, taking the freeway towards Niš, take the Požarevac exit and follow the direction of Veliko Gradište until you reach the village of Topolovnik, where there is a sign indicating the road to Ram and its fortress Almost opposite Ram, on a small island, was the fortress of Haram (Uj-Palanka for the Hungarians). There is almost nothing left of it today, except for a part of its curtain wall, which was once reinforced by round towers at each corner. In the Ottoman period, it was entered through a door in the main tower to the east. On the land side, a moat lined the curtain wall. Near the fortress lie the ruins of an old Ottoman caravanserai, which can be visited freely.
