The friendly town of Jedburgh is located on the banks of the Jed Water, on the edge of the Borders. Close to the English border, it is the first town you come across in Scotland when traveling between Newcastle and Edinburgh. It is one of the most beautiful abbeys in the region. Its prison is to be seen by the ghost hunters: indeed, it would be a known observatory of ectoplasms! A museum space is also dedicated to Mary Queen of Scots. Jedburgh can be reached by bus with the Borders Buses 51 service from Edinburgh (2h15), Peter Hogg 20 from Kelso (25 minutes), or Borders Buses 68 from Melrose and Galashiels (50 minutes).
