The lovely village of Melrose grew up around its abbey, which was the victim of a turbulent martial history. It is also forever linked to its most illustrious resident, Sir Walter Scott, who built a palace here. He is buried at Dryburgh, and one of his favorite viewpoints is very close to his final resting place. Scott's View, as it has come to be known, is symbolized by a parking lot and a plaque on the B6365, 750 m north of Bemersyde. Another exceptional view can be enjoyed from the top of the Eildon Hills. Some believe that King Arthur is said to be buried here. The path to get there starts on Dingleton Road (B6359). A simple green sign announces it between two houses, between Newlyn Road and Dundas Terrace.Discover the Tweed Valley. Here you will be in the heart of the Tweed Valley: take the time to drive, to walk... depending on your mode of transportation and the time you have, but above all, let yourself be carried away by the magic of these landscapes, all softness and beauty. Make stops along the way to admire a point of view (marked panoramas) or take an impromptu visit: you won't regret it!
