Once an important port on the coast, today it's a bathing resort that welcomes many tourists in summer. Lined with Victorian houses, the town doesn't offer much to see. Aberdovey's surroundings, on the other hand, are more interesting and offer some great walks. The RSPB Ynys-hir reserve is just a few miles away, where you can wander through woodland and marshland to observe the many bird species present. Remember to check opening times according to the season (admission charge, adult £6). Another walk accessible to all: Llyn Barfog and its lake.
