It is one of the smallest inhabited islands in the eastern part of the Inland Sea: it takes a little more than half an hour to walk from its southern tip to its northern tip. The only charming village on the island, Ogicho, is located in the south and the rest of the island is almost entirely composed of two large hills covered with forests. Ogijima Island has been in decline until now, but it has been revived by the Setouchi Triennial. It is an ideal place to combine cultural visits, swimming and forest walks. Beaches being wild, it is better to ask for advice to the locals. A ferry connects Ogijima to Takamatsu every day (40 minutes, one-way trip 510 ¥).
