About 15 km east of Martouni, the village of Zolakar, overlooking the road along the lake, is also famous for its many khatchkars of the 15th-16th centuries. It can be reached by taking a path parallel to the main road linking Martouni to Vardénis, which runs along the southern shore of the lake. You can also see the badly damaged remains of a rustic church while enjoying a panoramic view of Lake Sevan. The hamlet itself does not have any reception facilities, but you will be warmly welcomed by the peasants.
