More than a thousand years ago, Biecz was one of the largest villages in Poland and still has an impressive medieval architectural heritage that has made it famous all over the country, as well as the nickname of the pearl of Podkarpacie, and even the occasional little Krakow. The city has not changed much since the great medieval period and today has no more than 5,000 inhabitants. This sleepiness gives it a quiet and warm atmosphere and historical sites that have not been damaged by industry or heavy urbanization. The town is worth a visit especially for the magnificent church of Binarowa, 3 km from the center.
