Olsztyn is definitely worth a visit! Its old town, rebuilt identically after its destruction, is bounded by the Łyna River, as well as by 14th-century fortifications. Surrounded by ten lakes to the west and vast forests, its location makes it the ideal starting point for excursions into the region. Access to the town used to be via three gates, of which only one remains today, the Upper Gate(Wisoka Brama). Enjoy strolling through Olsztyn's pretty little streets. The small Rynek is surrounded by Gothic arcaded houses. The former town hall, in the center, has been converted into a national library.
