CASTLE - MUSEUM OF WARMIA AND MAZURIA

Formerly the residence of the Warmia chapter, its opulent structure reveals the pomp and power of the order at the height of its glory. Transferred into the hands of the Polish Church after its defeat, Nicolas Copernicus administered it for a time. On the outside wall of the north wing is a fragment of the astronomical table he made to study the equinox. The castle houses the Museum of Warmia and Masuria, a regional museum of folk art and culture.
