Olsztynek lies 26 km south of Olsztyn. This village was founded in the 14th century by the knights of the Teutonic Order and was one of the bastions of Protestantism in Poland. In Rynek Square, its disused historic temple now houses an exhibition hall (Salon Wystawowy) devoted to graphic art. The village itself isn't very interesting, but 1 km from the town center you'll find a high-quality, perfectly preserved open-air museum recreating a traditional village with its houses and mill. If you're passing through, this visit is certainly worth a detour!
