Stavanger's little neighbor no longer has any complexes: for some years now, a wind of modernity has been blowing through Sandnes. This ever-changing town is full of energy, yet manages to retain its unpretentious small-town charm. Culture has been given pride of place, with the new opera house and concert hall. Trendy restaurants have sprung up around the pedestrian street just behind the station.
