A health resort in the Styrian lake country known for its health centre. A visit to Bad Aussee, in the heart of the mountains and Austria, is the ultimate in chic! Bad Aussee is a reminder of Anna Plochl, the heroine of a particularly romantic episode in Austrian history, the daughter of a postmaster who had an affair with Archduke Johann (Erzherzog Johann), whom she secretly married in 1827. The bride and groom appear in effigy on the bridge over the Grundlsee Traun. The former post office on Meranplatz has been converted into a small museum.
