It is the Chamonix of Austria! A small, cosy mountain town, a stronghold for mountaineers heading for the peaks in summer and winter. Schruns, situated against the Verwall mountains and close to the Zimba, one of the country's most famous mountains for mountaineering, is one of Austria's most famous mountain resorts, thanks to its proximity to the high mountains, the quality of its infrastructure, the diversity of its offer and the extent of its ski area (218 km of pistes!). In summer, it is one of the main meeting points for mountaineering in the country. Schruns is the gourmet and sporty capital of Montafon.
