The five domes of its church Saint-Georges, built in 1798, are visible from far away. The name of the village has a very poetic origin: in this place, according to legend, the voïevoda (high porter) Gromilo would have built a house for his daughter, the graceful Choucha; it would have rained so much that it would have declared "Vek sidete boudou" ("I shall stay there a century"), and the "vek sidete" ("to remain a century") would have become Veksitsy, the name of the village… It extends on the flanks of two hills that are facing, watering many streams. Through a small footpath surrounded by orchards and wooden houses, you can reach the very badly damaged Saint George church, built in the th century style. On the right of the church, a wooden building at the beginning of the century, housed the four classrooms of the village school.
