At 1,390 meters above sea level and at the foot of the Mariola mountain range, this quiet town of more than 11,400 inhabitants lives from the textile industry. The main reason for visiting the town is to go on an excursion to the mountains bordering Cocentaina, which offer wonderful landscapes. There are many walks (four signposted routes) and bicycle rides.
