The Verte valley, at 2 300 m above sea level, is a popular grazing site. It is surrounded by hills with gentle curves, where, from the early days of the spring, shepherds of ancient sovkhozes come with yurts and herds. Horses disperse along the river, and from June to September, fresh koumiss can be found in all yurts. Another place of rest for the driver, the trailer sometimes with "takhta" - kind of wooden beds where one sits as a tailor to drink tea or taste a plov, manty, saumonée trout ($ 5 for 4 people) - which is forbidden to fishing but apparently not to consumption! Almost all local dishes are offered but not all the same day… For hikers, this is a real paradise. You can arrange with shepherds to rent horses, you're very often welcomed under yurts. Tourist groups are still a rare commodity and the people in the corner remember laughing with their first contacts with these Westerners, their camera glued to the retina. However, the transport of goods is many, the racketeers are also there, and cars are reluctant to stop taking hitchhiking. Before the second pass, a fork on the right allows to reach Talas, then Djamboul in Kazakhstan.
