SAINT BRIGID'S CATHEDRAL AND ROUND TOWER
Read moreLike many Catholic churches, St Brigid's Cathedral was rebuilt, rebuilt, destroyed and rebuilt and served as a stable at Cromwell Horses… Recently renovated, she is always standing and has some attractions for architectural lovers. The round tower is the highest That tower in Ireland, but you need to be in shape to climb the wooden ladders. Very nice view of the top of the tower, whose normally pointed top was destroyed by lightning.
THE IRISH NATIONAL STUD
Read moreThe tour of the stables can only be accompanied by a guide. Here you can admire the most beautiful horses in Ireland. The horse museum is the museum of the long history of love between Ireland and horse races, but also between man and horse from the sporting point of view.
The Japanese Garden is Europe's most famous Japanese garden and follows the traditional gardens of the land of the Rising Sun. St Fiachra's Garden offers beautiful walks in a web of lakes, rivers, stones and greenery.
GEORGIAN STYLE
Read moreThis architectural style concerns the period corresponding to the kingdoms of George III (1760-1820) and George IV (1820-1830). It is characterized by neo-classical but also Gothic and exotic influences. It was adopted by snobbery by the Irish bourgeoisie in the th century. So the architecture of their houses followed a fashion coming from England. None of the big cities of the island escaped from this trend of building large wrought iron balconies. The kitchen is generally located in the basement, the dining room on the ground floor, the living room on the first floor and the owner's bedroom still above. But social crises quickly forced their residents to sell them to apartments. Many of these houses were destroyed in the 60 s. Dublin has great witnesses to Georgian architecture, such as the homes of Stephen's Green, The Custom House, The Four Court's and King's Inn.
