Garrison town without much charm, 25 km from Luleå. Trains leave for Luleå, Kiruna, Abisko, Narvik. If you are driving, you can still visit the Försvarsmuseum, which shows the military history of Boden. Outside the town, heading south, is Rödbergsfortet, one of the last defensive forts in Lapland, used during the two world wars and closed permanently in the 2000s. The place has remained intact and can be visited. If the city is not very interesting, the landscapes of the surroundings are not more disappointing than elsewhere! The other attraction is a hotel built in the trees!
