After Boden and Luleå, 40 km further north in the direction of Haparanda, the endless fir forest gives way in places to some marshy meadows. 9 km before the town of Kalix, the road begins to run along the Kalixälven river. After Kalix, the road, less and less frequented, crosses during about fifty kilometers completely deserted forests. From time to time, the presence of a few reindeer, not very shy and grazing on the side of the road, contributes to increase this unusual feeling that a bright light and a slightly prickly air come to accentuate.
