From Bönhamn, a very small harbor with red wooden houses on stilts, about 50 kilometers northeast of Härnösand: boats (at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm) make it possible to reach, after 10 minutes of crossing, the island of Högbonden located at two kilometers of the coast (in the event of strong wind, the boat cannot accost!). There are also four daily boats from Barsta (10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm). The youth hostel, a red wooden hut next to the white lighthouse, is perched on a steep rocky outcrop overlooking the sea.
