In fact, Sollefteå is a rather large area along the Ängerman River, the hinterland of the High Coast. This forgotten part of Sweden is mostly known for its hydroelectric installations that block the flow of the river and for the presence here of the country's national training center for guide dogs and police officers. The area has remained very wild. The woods as far as the eye can see, the calm waters of the river bathing landscapes of a calm that cannot be found anywhere else, red farms that stand out against the snow or the grass... This region is really worth a detour, if only to taste its gentle way of life, to try your hand at fishing in the waters that are probably the most fishy in Sweden. Martyred region, former military base of which the Nipan district remains, the area lost thousands of jobs when the dams went into automatic operation. Today, this municipality of nearly 20,000 inhabitants is ideal for spending a week to forget everything.
