Fishing, swimming, cultural activities and golf are all possible in this small town, located a few kilometers north of Sundsvall. The local population is about 18,000, and there are places to stay and eat. It's not the most exotic place, but the town is well placed to discover the surrounding area and its nature. A 30-minute walk from the center of Timrå is Merlo Slott Castle, which was purchased at the end of 2022 and is currently being renovated and will soon be reopened to the public. The castle was built as a summer residence for the wealthy timber magnate Frederick Bünsow in the last years of the 19th century.
