A village registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It was founded in 1772 by the Hussites (called Moravians in English), followers of Jan Hus. This 14th century Czech reformer denounced the errors of Catholicism long before Luther. The city's right-angled plan, identical brick houses, a church where all decorum has been banished, and a strange cemetery where men and women are buried separately: Hussite thought is reflected everywhere, in the stonework as well as in the urban planning of this perfectly preserved city, which bears the name of King Christian VII, himself head of the Danish Lutheran Church..
