The best view of Nakskov is from the sea. The old shipyard and the workers' houses that surround it, the customs house, the port administration, the warehouses that are still in use, the weighing shed and the maritime museum, all stand out because of the red that dresses them. It is easy to understand the strategic and economic importance of this small port created in the Middle Ages. A pretty and colorful town with its half-timbered houses, its old pharmacy, the granite sculptures (3 heads) made by the Danish artist Thomas Kadziola, also known for his giants of Dodekalitten, in Glentehøj (Kragenæs) 19 km north.
