Located beyond Mogoşoaia, this small town of 20,000 inhabitants boasts a large park, in the middle of which stands the Ştirbei Palace. Built by Wallachian Prince Barbu Ştirbei in the mid-19th century, it now houses a restaurant serving Romanian specialties(www.palatulstirbey.ro). The village is also famous for its gigantic TV and film studios, which boast one of the world's largest collections of costumes and props, inherited from the Communist period. Films shot here include Costa-Gavras' Amen, Christian Carion's Joyeux Noël and Claude Lelouch's Ces amours-là.
