Just 1 kilometres north-east of Bugarama (RN), Bukeye is a small town active on the road to Kayanza, which was one of the largest royal capitals in Burundi. Under Belgian colonization, she then became the site of an important Catholic mission (1927). You can still see its solid foundations by visiting the beautiful brick church, away from the national road.Bukeye's population mainly lives in agriculture, but it also provides additional income by taking on small business on this very busy axis, and especially by working in bricks and tiles, a very developed production throughout the region. People in and around the world, particularly welcoming, live in both enterprising and float land. They also know the nearby Kibira, which can be accessed from the village through the Nyabihondo. With guides from the Park, it is possible to depart from one of the forest trails that start here and pass through Busangana to randonner in the forest. The paths of Bukeye are, with those of Banga more north, the shortest to reach the mount Teza and the caves that make its charm (including Inangurire, close to Bukeye).
