There are three reasons for Teza to be a known name in Burundi: its tea plantations, its entrance position of the National National Park and the eponymous mount, second highest peak in the country at 2 666 m altitude. It is a destination of choice for travellers seeking to keep in memory of beautiful scenery in Burundi. Located at the edge of the forest of Kibira, the tea plantations, which are only a few of the paths of passage for the gatherers, form like a moutonnant mat of a bright green in the midst of the darker stretches of the dense forest attached to neighbouring summits. These curved and green perspectives have soothing virtues. A few large pines, a valley which is cultivated below and, above, barracks intended for the gatherers and tea workers, indicate that we arrive close to the processing plant, the starting point for many possible walks.
