Approximately 5 km from Rumonge, at an average altitude of 850 m, this reserve protects a clear forest with a surface area of 600 ha.Forest. It is a dry forest of miombo type, with large trees of the genus Brachystegia (ihwa) that line the slopes more or less steep of the hills, with peaks around 10-15 m high. There are numerous build, characteristics of miombo attached to zambézienne Africa: the size and volume of these constructions are sometimes impressive (up to 4 m in diameter and height!).Wildlife is also typical but very threatened. It consists of primates, with monkeys, including the "olive" baboon (Papio anubis), the green monkey (Neglectus æthiops) and even common chimpanzees (cave pan). Sylvicapres antelopes such as Grimm's céphalophe (Sylvicapra grimmia) can be observed. In the reptilian world, the best represented species are the python Python (5-6 m in length), the Vert green femur (2 m) and the serpent of the trees said boomslang (1,50 m), all venomous.A multitude of birds finally spoil sight and hearing, as everywhere in Burundian parks.
